Introduction
BY (the village) (jokowski.fi/by) was a successful exhibition of Finnish children’s book illustration touring in Germany, Sweden and Finland in 2014-2017. The sequel is now in production.
While last time we worked from a village perspective, this time we want to zoom in on the collective. We work with the collective format in visual art, while at the same time we want to examine the collective as a form, raising the issue of diversity.
The COLLECTIVE (Kollektivet (SWE), Kollektiivi (FIN)) will focus on illustration as an art form. It also invites an exciting theme about the self and the group.
The exhibition is scalable to work in both smaller and larger halls.
Educational material for children in day care, primary and secondary schools, high school and vocational schools will be created in parallel with the exhibition. The exhibition also has an accompanying exhibition catalogue.
